MT House

Redistricting has created opportunities in the Gallatin County area for Democrats to pick up four seats in the Montana House this year and one seat in the Senate in each of 2024 and 2026, breaking the super-majority that Republicans held in both houses last year.

The boundaries of MT Senate Districts and MT House Districts were recently changed to reflect the results of the 2020 census.  So, if you are experiencing a “who moved my cheese?” moment in figuring out in which legislative districts you can vote in 2024, you are not alone.

There are two ways to figure out in which senate and house districts you live.  One way is to find the voter registration card that was mailed to you by the MT Secretary of State at the end of 2023. The other way is to enter your first name, last name, and date of birth here.  If  you no longer live at the address indicated, you will have to register to vote again.

If you are curious about how the boundaries of MT Senate districts and MT House districts have changed you can view the old and new legislative district boundaries on a map here.

You can investigate the partisan lean of 2024 MT House districts here.
